Geoffrey Sher, co-founder and Executive Medical Director of the Sher Institutes for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM), has written a fascinating blog, about a study published online in the journal Fertility and Sterility which claims that about 44% of 7, 000 Australian women aged 28-36 years who said they had experienced difficulty conceiving for at least a year, subsequently achieved a pregnancy without having to undergo any type of fertility treatment. BRITISH ACTRESS CALLS FOR FREE IVF

British Actress Dawn French is urging health chiefs in Britain to provide unlimited IVF, after enduring the "heartbreaking" treatments herself. The Harry Potter star went through several rounds of treatment in the 1980s in a bid to get pregnant with her now ex-husband Lenny Henry.French then tragically miscarried - and the couple subsequently adopted a daughter, Billie. The funnywoman opened up about the trauma of undergoing Ivf in her autobiography Dear Fatty, and now she wants National Health Service (Nhs) bosses in the U.K. to lift the restrictions on the amount of treatment available to those who request it.Speaking on Britain's The One Show on the BBC, she says, "You should be able to keep doing it until you conceive because it's heartbreaking when you can't." |
